[Ed. Note: This will be the first of how ever many more games there are recaps/previews for the NBA Finals. People tell me I am somewhat of a basketball genius, even though I am a terrible athlete, so these should be informative.]
So the L.A. Lakers won last night, but I didn't find it to be all that impressive. I felt the Lakers needed a resounding win against the Boston Celtics with at least a double-digit margin of victory for them to feel that they are actually back in this series. Instead, the Lakers allowed the the Celtics to hang around all night, especially with the fact that Boston had a lead going into the fourth quarter, even though Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett had completely putrid efforts on the offensive end. The only thing that saved the Lakers from being down 0-3 in this series was timely shooting from Sasha Vujacic, who has great soccer player hair, and Kobe taking over in the fourth quarter. One bright spot for the Celtics was that I think Doc Rivers finally figured out he should be playing Eddie House as his backup point guard instead of Sam Cassell. Cassell is the epitome of a ball-hog and he shoots every time he touches the ball. There is no ball rotation when he is in the game and a terrible shot is taken as a result. I would think Rivers would have figured this out before Game 3, but better late than never.
Game 4 preview to come tomorrow.
