NBA Finals Game 6 Recap

[Ed. Note: I want to apologize to all of my readers for not providing a preview/recap for game 5 of the Finals. I know this blog is a staple of everyone's day and the lack of posting has made the days a little somber, but I have been very busy working two jobs. I can assure you though, you will not be disappointed again.]

Celtics win! Not only did the Celtics win, they throttled the Lakers in the process. It looked like most year's 1 vs. 16 match-up in the NCAA tournament. The only competitive quarter, in which it looked like the Lakers were giving effort, was the first with the Celtics being up by a score of 24-20. The Celtics played inspired defense throughout the game, never letting up like they did in game 2, and overall tremendous team ball as five Boston players were in double figures. Paul Pierce deservedly won the Finals MVP trophy for his remarkable play throughout the playoffs, but I would have liked to see co-MVPs with Pierce and Ray Allen because without his shooting the Celtics would not have won the championship. I'm not including Kevin Garnett in that discussion because, aside from game 6 where he absolutely dominated, he shied away and deferred to other players in too many big moments during the Finals. So, the current version of Boston's Big Three all win championships for the first time in their careers, and overall the city of Boston gets their 17th NBA championship. Congratulations to the 2008 Boston Celtics for winning the title, enjoy it while it lasts.

Well folks, the 2008 season has come to an end and I'm saddened because basketball is probably my favorite sport to watch and I wish I had been writing about it the whole season. I'll definitely have something on the 2008 NBA Draft, so look out for that.
